When I started at Philadelphia University, in the Accelerated gradation Program, I knew that the process ahead would be difficult to date I was full of optimism and hope at the future that a bachelor degree would afford me the chance to be possessed of a better life. Though I was optimistic, the thought of having to complete altogether of the required courses instilled some fear into me. I felt the likes of I lacked the confidence and skill to perform at a satisfactory level. Theodore Roosevelt once stated It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed (Roosevelt, 2012), remembering this, I knew that I had to place my fear aside and try my hardest to get to my goals in order to get where I cherished to be in life.
Initially, my reasons for going back to school was to set an spokesperson to my younger siblings that education is a lifelong process and its never too late to pursue your dreams of wanting to a greater extent out of life. I wanted them to know that its practical if you can put your mind and energy into it. Somehow I also felt that getting a degree would expose me sense of pride. All of my close friends have advanced degrees, and at times I feel out of place. I wanted to prove to myself that I was just as good as them, if not better.
During the course of my stay at PhilaU I have grown and learned more than I thought possible. I came to this school from Community College of Philadelphia already knowing that I wanted to major in Behavioral and Health Services; I had taken numerous Behavioral Health courses and though I knew exactly what I was headed for-was I ever wrong. Going by dint of the Behavioral Health program has taught me so much more than stuff about healthcare and helping people, it has taught me how to set goals and objectives. I have learned how to communicate more effectively, view tuition from a global perspective, how to conduct proper research and meditate information.
