The maternalism discrimination act states, This law amended Title septet to make it illegal to discriminate against a woman because of pregnancy, childbirth, or a medical condition related to pregnancy or childbirth. The law also makes it illegal to retaliate against a somebody because the person complained about discrimination, filed a charge of discrimination, or participated in an employment discrimination investigation or lawsuit. (Laws Enforced by EEOC 2) At my work place this law is followed and abided by. For example, the lead teller at our branch was recently hired and she was two months pregnant. That did not affect her hiring process. We also, had one employee who was on maternity admit, and we had a brief employee filling her spot. Once she returned her postion was waiting for her.One bad example that I could mention was when my sister was pregnant. She had left on maternity leave, and when she was micturate to return her position was filled and she was let go. It was upsetting and rightly away she wanted to sue the brass. She went through alot in that organization, and in the end she did sue and win.
Compared to my work place and hers was a major difference.
I enjoyed going to work, the hiring process was always fair and precaution valued its employees by being as accomodating as possible to them. Thats why in that respect are employees currently working(a) there past ten years. Yet at her past employer, employees would leave quickly. Management did not have a good repute at all. No relationships were built and way too more than conflict in the work place. Abiding with equal employement opportunity laws, will make a successful and positive working environment. It is strongly believed to abide by them in order for an organization to flourish.
