Ramayana Essay
Ramayana is an Indian tale with lots of drama and adventure, but to a fault ties family value, relationships, and most importantly Hindu philosophy into the plot. Even though the story takes place thousands of years ago the ideology and values being taught argon still relevant in forthwiths society. These elements are shown through the many difficult choices that are faced by the characters throughout this story. A crucial position of the Ramayana is the Golden cervid scene. It is during this part that several, very influential decisions are made and ultimately Sita ends up being vexd because of these decisions. This scene very seems to highlight some important parts of Hindu philosophy and shows that desire and greed can cause major problems for level the wealthiest people.
In this scene, Mareecha is posing as a Golden Deer in front of Ramas cottage, in order to scarper Sita out. This really selects Sitas attention and she cant stand by but be fascinated by this deer and tells Rama to capture it for her. Instead of leaving the deer alone and letting it be free in the wild, Sita chooses greed and wants the deer for herself. In doing so she ignores the signs of it being an obvious conjury.
Even worse, Ramas mind is so fixated on pleasing his wife and excepting her demand that he doesnt even question Sita and blindly accepts her demand by saying Yes, of course you shall have it. Where is it? (pg 82). Ramas brother, Lakshmana, jumps in at this layover to open up Ramas eyes to this obvious trick and tells Rama I would not go near it. It may merely be an illusion presented before us. Its not strong (pg 82). Rama of course ignores his brothers warnings and his own logical idea and goes for the deer anyways. After pursuing the golden deer for a while, Rama begins to realize his mistake and shoots an arrow into Mareecha posing as this deer.
