On June 6, 1944 a very strategically planned attacked was personate into action. It was during World War II. The strategy was called Operation Overload. The Allied forces invaded the bloc powers fortified base at Normandy Beach. Its the largest seaborne whip of all time as 850,000 troops cross the cardinal mile wide English Channel. Allied land forces that participated in combat in Normandy on June 6 were from Canada, free French Forces, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. Within a couple weeks afterwards the invasion, Polish forces also participated and there were also contingents from Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Greece, and the Netherlands. Also, most of the higher up countries also impartd air and naval support, as did the gallant Australian Air Force, Royal New Zealand Air Force and the Royal Norwegian Navy. But it took a lot to plan forth and to execute the plan to the fullest.
The Normandy invasion began with overnight parachute and glider landings, massive air attacks, naval bombardments, an early morning amphibian landing and during the evening the remaining elements of the parachute divisions landed. The D-Day forces deployed from bases along the southwestern coast of England. Germany seemed unbeatable still however.
Britain had 10,000 aircraft but that was still not nearly enough to take down the axis powers.
