An Analysis of Hemingway

If a writer of prose knows enough about what he is makeup about he
may omit things that he knows and the reader, if the writer is writing
unfeignedly enough, will have a feeling of those things as strongly as
though the writer had stated them (Ernest Hemingway). Assess the
importance of remissness as a technique in the work of 2 short story
writers you have studied on the course.

This essay thinkes on the work of Hemingway and F.Scott Fitzgerald.
Particular focus is placed on Hemingways A Clean, Well-Lighted
Place and Fitzgeralds An Alcoholic Case. For the object of this
essay omission is canvasn to mean the exclusion of entropy from the
text. The effect and value of this technique is assessed. The extent
to which it improves the readers fuck off and understanding of the
text is investigated. The importance of this technique, in allowing
the writer to shoot and develop the underlying themes in the text, is

Effect on the text
Hemingway evokes a gumption of quiet desperation and solitude in the
text. The main focus of the short story is the old piece of music and yet by the
end of the piece, Hemingway has revealed very little of the universes
character. He form nameless and faceless.



Interestingly we are
given no account of the mans physical features instead Hemingway
reveals only that he sits in a shadow. We are given little
information of his past though the waiter reveals that last week he
tried to commit self-annihilation. It is not explicitly stated why the man
attempted to take his own life, we are given no concrete intellectual for
his despair. It is apparent that the character may be an alcoholic further this is not
certain. The waiter states that he once had a wife and that his
niece foreshorten him down. This leaves the reader with only a vague
