As the U.S. troops continued to rise, the war grew more costly and the economy begun to suffer. The pretension rate started to decrease even more and taxes were raised. The government was cosmos optimistic all the time and was persuading the Americans that they were winning gradually. However, Americans watched the combat footage which appeared every night on TV.
